I save cuttings from this small leaf coleus from year to year. This is Jackie's favorite coleus.  She brought this one home a few years ago and I fell in live with it too.

I don't have to add anything else to this planter.   The coleus stands out on its own!

Great color!

Coleus was the first thing I ever learned to root. It's very easy to root and so much fun.....I've since discovered that there are quite a few varieties of coleus....That is a wonderful one and it looks great in that window box. The way it spreads is fabulous! Have y'all thought of maybe taking cuttings so you could have a house plant of it, too?

It is never the same!

Seems that the amount of sunlight, or shade, effects the coloration of the foliage.  In full sun all the leaves turn a deep dark burgandy,  in less sun the foliage develops a green margin.  In full to partial shade the foliage change to what the photo shows.  I prefer the shade coloration!

As a house plant the foliage changes again, and is not at all nice as a house plant.  The cuttings I take in tend to turn more red with less of the other colors when I have them under grow lights for the winter months.
