These pansies survived the winter in my zone 7 with green leaves and even some blooms sometimes.

I used a 3 tier planting method to load the planter with daffodils 'Dutch Master', Persian tulips & 'Delft Blue' Hyacinths and then planted pansies. They bloomed all last fall. In the winter I kept the pots in a sunny and wind protected spot by the house, so my pansies did well.

In the spring, my spring bulbs came up and really put on a wonderful show. Now the bulbs are done blooming and pansies are in full bloom again.

I love this idea - I had continious blooms for 6 months now (with a little break when it was too cold)
