This is a panel I made last year for my brother-in-law.  He and his wife remodeled their 100+ year old house and it was written up in the paper, won and award (locally) and is on the historical registry.  It is officially known as the Brennan House now.  So I made this for them for Christmas which was our first Christmas that we all celebrated in the newly rennovated house.  It is a beautiful house - they really did a great job on it.  I framed this piece in an old barnwood frame that I stained really dark.  I also stained the solder dark so it would make the piece look antique. Yes, please, we'd love to see the job in progress!

I remember we talked about this piece on the old site. I am still very impressed with your lettering and fitting job. I am too scared to attempt the letters :)

It would be awesome to show others what steps are involved in making the panel, great idea. I'm looking forward to that article too! Tatyana

Thanks, Susan!  Believe it

Thanks, Susan!  Believe it or not, it was harder than the 214 piece sweetheart tree!  I created the design myself - well, everything except the claddagh portion - that part I got from a pattern because I'm terrible at drawing hands!  Anyway, I don't think I will ever do a piece with letters in it again!  It was REALLY hard to get all the pieces to fit around those letters.  As a result, while I am very proud of it, I don't consider it one of my better pieces.

And, yes, I probably could do a short article about it - I have pics of the progress.  While I was making it, I was emailing an out of town brother-in-law the progress because it was all his idea.  I felt like if I emailed him pics, he would feel like he was more a part of it - the gift was from both of us. Hmm...I'll work on an article this weekend...
