Datura wrighttii
Didn't I share some seeds with you for Datura Wrighttii, moonflower/moon lily? That is what this is. The blooms only open once each night; until pollinated they smell citrus-sy, like key lime. Once they have been pollinated, they smell more like dirty sweat socks. LOL!
One evening, I had as many as 18 blooms open at once and the fragrance just walking by it was astounding! I really love mine.
Each bloom pollinated will make a thorny looking seed pod with hundreds of seeds. The way to capture the seeds is to put a kneehigh or pantyhose foot over each one. If you don't want the seed pods to develop, clip off each dead bloom where it joins the plant.
The plant and seeds are toxic, but animals generally don't like it anyway. Just watch kids as this is one of those plants that teens have tried seeds to get high & ended up dead.
Dizzy you are so smart!!!

Could it be a moon plant or

Datura is poisonous to people
if injested. Try to keep the dog from chewing it, as it might hurt him.
