Anyone Having Posting Problems.....

To anyone who is having posting problems, Al has asked me to ask you to double check to see that you have logged out. You should be logged out and then you'll be able to log back on. He said he was going to set up an automated system that would automatically log people out after 10 minutes of inactivity so that in the future, we won't have to bother with this.

Additionally, as much as I hate to report this for some of our members who don't wish to try another browser, kmixon75 just e-mailed me using the link at the top of the page to inform me that after downloading Firefox version 3, she was able to post on the boards. When using IE version 7, she was only able to vote in polls and post in the chat area. Please try downloading Firefox to see if that resolves the problem for you..............If it does for more people than just Kat, we will know that this is definitely everyone's problem! If you don't want to download Firefox, try downloading the most recent version of Netscape!

I like this much better since the last post appears on the top. This way I don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page anymore to post a comment.

To get a comment box to appear at the bottom of your page, you will need to click on the icon that says NEW COMMENT that appears above the top message....I believe this is a space saving device that Al incorporated to allow more posts to appear on a page.............If you click that icon, you can reply in the template that opens.....This will allow posts to stay in order.

If you have that at the bottom of your page -- and can reply directly without clicking the reply to a message link, you're lucky. Grannyrose, try clearing the cache on your browser, closing it out and then opening it up again.....If that doesn't work, see if rebooting your computer does it. You will probably have to sign in again, though. We have a new technology that automatically logs you off after a certain amount of time.

Or did the post comment feature disappear? I have been able to post comments for a few days now and now when I came in here I don't see it at the bottom of the pages anymore. I can (obviously) still reply to a post.

I don't think it's you! I was wondering about the same thing myself, and I just sent Al an e-mail about it....As things stand now, it's impossible to ensure that the most recent post appears on the top.......I'm not sure that he was aware of it. Just to make sure it wasn't something that was browser related, I checked it on several browsers and it appears to be a universal site problem!

I'm using IE 7, with all the other updates, and haven't had a problem logging in, or navigating around the site.

Not all pages have a reply box at the bottom of the page. I've been using the reply tab under a posted reply on those pages!

You don't have a formatting box, Dor? When I use Firefox, I also don't have the formatting box, however, when I click on preview, it appears, so I have to use it that way. I think different browsers work differently. If you have IE Version 6, there are loads of bugs in it, and people have had lots of problems. Al recommends that people download version 7 because that fixes those bugs.

no longer have a blank box at the bottom of the posts to enter a post. I can only reply to a post. Is anyone use having that problme? I went to Microsoft and tried to update IE but with Vista I already have it.

There is a place to reply! It's not at the bottom of the page, though. If you go to the top of the messages and look directly under the original thread, you will see an icon that allows you to post a new reply or comment. When you use that, your post automatically goes to the top so that it's the most recent post. If you wish to keep posts in order, that's the way to do it now!

Try clearing your cache -- except passwords. If you do that, it may speed things up. Also, are you running too many things at once or do you have too many windows open? I've been known to have problems often because I think that I can do everything at one time!

Coco, are you using Internet Explorer Version 6? Al says that version has loads of bugs in it. If you can download the updated version 7, that may help you!

Hey Susan and all,

I have not had the tool bar at the top of the reply window until just now! I'm using Firefox instead of IE6, and it came right up. I can plop pictures now coming & going! YAY! And it's so easy to do too!! Think I'll plop one in this message just for the heck of it!!
