It is at least

6-7 feet tall. This is the first year it has bloomed in the four years but maybe my fault. Each bloom gets larger and larger. Off sugject here. Prettylady I have my corkscrew vine in a 6 inch pot. It has not bloomed yet. I have it climbing up a tomato cage. Is that normal to not bloom the first year from seed?

Just my 2 cents..

granny Brugs do not come in vines.. and what you have pictured is a Brugmansia.Undoubtedly they mixed up the tag for this one since it isn't yellow either. Although it probably opened yellow and then turned pink..which most of the pinks will do, some will open white and then turn pink. I have never seen or heard of a Brug. opening pink and then turn yellow. If you search the web there is a plant called "angel trumpet vine" but it doesn't look anything like this. The one pictured looks like one called "Frosty Pink" but there is no way of telling for sure without having it tested by a lab. Wow it took 4 years to bloom? Thats a long time unless it was planted from seed. The bloom is beautiful! Give it plenty of fertilizer when in it's growning stage.(during summer).. protect from freezing.

Pay it FORWARDS!! You never know, it may come back to YOU when you need it!!

I knew....

the moment I saw that that DeeDee would come to the rescue.....If that's "Frosty Pink," I'm really excited. That's what Treva sent me for one of my wishes from Santa's wish list and I think that's gorgeous! --- I can't wait to see mine bloom!

Thanks Dee

I searched the web and the trumpet vines do look different. Glad to finally know what I have. I love it. I don't know if it is the location and I know I didn't feed it enough. I still have some buds coming out but didn't know if I should feed it this late in the season. The Ecuador pink seeds you sent me are doing well and about 1 1/2 feet tall. I still have them in pots and will be bring them in for the winter. I will cover the one in the picture. I am going to take some cuttings also. Thank you again.

Beautiful Flower!

It is so pretty, love the color. Is a trumpet vine similiar to honesuckle in some way? Just curious since I am not familiar with them..........
grannyrose's picture

No they are

not similar. I have both and the blooms on the honeysuckle are small and not trumpet shaped.

I was given a honesuckle vine

I was given a honesuckle vine this summer, but it never bloomed so I have to wait to see the color of it.... since the person who gave it to me didn't know anything abt it, just that she didn't want it at her new house. So, I brought it home with me. My kids use to bring home stray animals, I prefer plants. None the less your Flower is Beautiful!

I like

honeysuckles. When I was growing up they grew wild and my mother doesn't care for them.

There are Angel Trumpets(Daturas) and Brugmansias. Look at this site. It has both. It can be invasiive I have read but I haven't seen any babies crop up in my yard. Looks like another plant to add to your wish list. I have a purple one getting ready to bloom. The foliage on it is different and it is a smaller plant.

Thank you, Grannyrose

I have bookmarked that site. I have had white ones, they were so sweet smelling. Also orange, but didn't even know that they came in all those colors. The white one wrapped around a wooden trellis, so pretty, miss it...
grannyrose's picture

I have seeds

for the white ones too. I will try to save seeds then I can share them with you. I haven't seen any yet.

When I bought

this plant 4 years ago Susan the tag said Yellow Angel Trumpet Vine. I have waited all these years for blooms and they are pink. This is the first year and I just checked it and there are nine more pods growing. I had two and I traded one and never got my end of the trade. They were in 5 gallon containers but I bought them at 70% off. Thanks Penny, that is the largest bloom yet.
