Keep them well fed!

To get them to bloom twice, or more, times a year I place them outdoors in a spot that gets morning sun.  Water once a day during hot periods and fertilize every other week with 10-30-15 so they can develop a nice fat bulb.   Fertilize right up to late September,  bring it inside for the winter in late October and place it in the basement where it's cool and dark.  i do not water them until they start to send up a flower bud ....usually by late December to late January.

This one is a bit lazy this year and is just now showing a flower bud.

Bulb size at this point is around the size of a large grapefruit.

Wow, Ron! That's amazing.

Wow, Ron! That's amazing. How do you get it to bloom twice a year? I think my mother's had it, but she gets so impatient she just throws the bulbs away after Christmas.
