Hey all..  just wanted to say hi..  I used to be here 24/7 but stopped for my own reasons..  I have created this new accountto test the waters, or soil, or whatever.  

 

Currently, I am on a mission to create an attractive vegetable garden, I have yet to achieve such in past years and it although I love my veggies fresh from the garden, I can't seem to make the area blend in with the rest of my garden in an attractive way..

Welcome back! The new place has so much to offer! Sit down take your shoes of & type away you'll be sure to find some ideas for sure! Oh yeah please visit the "old friends" room that seems to be we have congregated the most. So what kind of gardening do you do? I am out west in Phoenix/Glendale Arizona but I grew up in Michigan so I have an understanding of cold weather issues. Not just limited to cactus gardening. Hope to see you post away! Mari

Welcome to GH, and hope to see you around.  I sent you some ideas for how to connect the Veggie garden with your other gardens where  you posted on MySpace.  PLMK how you like it.  However  original you make it is of course up to you, but you must have the marigolds for bug protection which I mentioned in reply to your post .   Here is also some info on companion planting  which is used a lot in Canada.  Anyone who gardens organically will find these ideas useful.

I'm not sure mine blend but then my garden is herbs, some flowers and the veggies.  I just stick stuff in where I have room.  I started on one end last fall and I'm working to the other end.  Some of  my herbs are impressive already.  Good luck and remember what maw says about the marigolds.  Lyn.

SandiB thanks for telling her about our chat tonight.  It does get addictive doesn't it.

Danniellesgarden if you come to chat tonight we can discuss suggestions to help you from other members.  My vegetable garden flows into my flower garden.  If you keep the weeds out keep it well wartered I would put that picture up against a flower garden anytime.  i usually have a hanging basket on sheperds hook or marigolds at the end of the row to help tie in the colors.  Just my thoughts.  Dale
