Fort Bend county fair is September 26 through October 2, 2008 In Rosenberg, TX from 8a til 12a everyday. Take Hwy 59 S, Exit Hwy 36 S, turn left on 36, Fairgrounds on the right. Tickets $9 adults and $3 children 6-11

Conservatory Getaway

The glistening white of a Minnesota winter is majestic and beautiful to me, for a while anyway. But all of a sudden there's this strong desire, maybe even necessity, to see color! Even green or brown might suffice. St. Paul, MN. has the ultimate remedy for someone in my condition, when flying south is not an option.
The conservatory at Como Park Is the perfect vacation from 'white', or any time of the year. A few weeks ago, I escaped to Spring! I'm always intrigued by the new displays and the feeling you get as you enter each of the different gardens.

Easter Memories

The true meaning of Easter was always talked about in our household and preparing the celebration of the Resurrection was a busy time. There was the sunrise celebration, the egg hunt in the park and this year the boss and his family were coming to dinner.
After weeks of baking and cooking, I collapsed into a chair the night before Easter.
I was watching my four year old twins play with their cars on the floor with their older brother and I realized I had taught them the important things but had neglected their fantasy life and the joy of childhood wonder.
“I wonder if that darn rabbit is going to sniff around again this year…” I mused. Suddenly I had the full attention of the three boys.
“What rabbit.” queried the eldest?
